Rise and Shine It’s Strawberry Time!!

Who doesn’t love a good freshly picked strawberry?

It’s time for the 36th Annual Pungo Strawberry Fest!    It takes place May 25th and 26th in downtown PUNGO!

Five students from Mrs. Hemmrich’s fourth grade had their artwork selected for this event. Congratulations to: Paige, Lucy, Nataleigh, Grace and Biana!
Update: Our Thunderbird artists never cease to amaze Mrs. Gerek!   Congratulations to Gracie for winning third place in the Annual Pungo Strawberry Fest, and Lucy for Honorable mention!   Way to go ARTISTS!


Families dealing with the loss of a loved one: Camp Lighthouse is a two day camp for children, teens and their families who are grieving. Camp will be held June 8-9, 2019 at the Triple R Ranch in Chesapeake. Children and teens (K-12) who have lost a close family member or friend within the past two years are eligible to attend. Parents, grandparents and caregivers are encouraged to participate in their own adult group. Summer Reading & Writing Skills Programs: Instructors from the Institute of Reading Development, through a partnership with University of Richmond School of Professional & Continuing Studies, are offering classes in Virginia Beach this summer that are designed to improve reading and study skills and stimulate a greater interest in reading. Courses are offered at the Virginia Wesleyan University campus, Tidewater Community College Campus, and at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
