Keep your child reading all summer long

This summer, your child has the opportunity to use Achieve3000® at home. Achieve3000 is the only platform that builds reading comprehension by meeting every child at his or her precise Lexile® reading levels and steadily moving them to grade-appropriate reading and beyond. Children using Achieve3000’s solutions (KidBiz3000®, TeenBiz3000®, and Empower3000®) follow our 5-Step Literacy Routine designed to help them:

  • Develop reading strategies for informational text
  • Build their academic vocabulary
  • Write both formally and informally
  • Critically evaluate the information they read

This routine builds the skills children need to stay on track for college and career.

Making Reading Gains Is as Easy as 1-2-3!

 1. Improve Your Child’s Comprehension with Achieve3000
• Spark discussions with your child about each lesson’s reading topics.
• Ask your child to read articles to you and stop periodically to summarize or ask questions.
• Have your child write one question for each article and research answers together.
• Track your child’s activity scores using the reports found in your Home Edition mailbox. Look for first-try scores of 75% or higher

2. Motivate Your Child to Read More
• Show your child how to use the Search function to find interesting Achieve3000 articles.
• Have your child fill out the Summer Reading Chart with each article read. Consider rewarding your child after articles and activities are completed at 75% or higher.
• Use your child’s Lexile level (found in the reports in the Home Edition) to help you find appropriately leveled books.

3. Activate Your Achieve3000 Home Edition
• Promote your child’s learning by activating your Achieve3000 Home Edition account.
• Watch this video to learn more about Achieve3000 and how to activate your Home Edition account.
